Position Details:

 

This position works closely with the CEO and actively participates with the Executive Team to ensure that the development work produced by the development team is properly understood and efficiently managed.

 

Responsibilities are as follows:

 

        Oversee all software development, implementation and maintenance processes, making strategic decisions regarding the development and integration of systems with the view of creating and maintaining a seamless development operation.

        Promote and cultivate a client-focused, service-oriented culture within the development team.

        Evaluate and prioritize requests for service and the allocation of resources and personnel to achieve the most effective and efficient deployment of resources and time.

        Define, implement and lead best practices within the development process.

        Manage recruitment, development, retention and morale of the development team.

        Be responsible for the quality of output from the development efforts.

        Be responsible for the productivity, efficiency and utilization of development staff.

        Be the senior point of liaison between the development team and the rest of the organization.

        Be a senior point of liaison with external partners and clients, in both a business development as well as technical integration capacity.

        Report informally on a regular basis and formally on a monthly basis the status of development projects.

        Write and deliver performance evaluation and appraisal of development team members.

 

 

 

Experience

        Experience in a start-up or highly entrepreneurial environment directing technical development with a background in software engineering/programming and building rich, client focused applications.

        A deep technical expertise in software systems architecture especially on mobile platforms.
