Our client has an exciting opportunity in their Sales group for a Category Advisor in support of their Loblaw's Account (Food Focus). Primary Focus Leverages superior category management skills to provide category analysis, insights and solutions to maximize performance impact for Loblaw’s Companies Nationally. Interacts regularly with senior regional and national representatives to ensure buy in and execution of programs. Leads best practice development in the areas of category management and customer partnerships that are leveraged to upgrade broader organization capabilities. JOB CONTEXT The incumbent manages all aspects of Loblaw’s Food Focus initiative and is responsible to develop and implement annual category development plans for Loblaw’s regional operating regions/banners. Initiates and supports analytical and insight mining leading to opportunity identification and solution generation. Integrates a variety of data sources (consumer and customer) as well as best practice approaches globally to create winning strategies. Extensively collaborates with a broad range of customer contacts (category manager to VP level) in addition to internal customer team to ensure alignment and superior execution. Creates, enables execution, and provides post execution analysis of new initiatives aligned with LCL sales and profitability objectives. Creates and leverages industry best practices to build overall selling organization best practices. Specific Accountabilities - Complete ongoing monitoring, measuring, and reporting of plan execution within the Loblaw’s divisions, also providing category perspective on the impact of competition within the region - 40%
Create complete category plans for each major banner/operating region including: category strategy, promotional strategy, assortment and shelving strategy. Gain alignment to recommendations at each division: director level or higher –30% Complete category reviews for each major division, analyzing current performance of promotional strategies, assortment, and shelving. – 20% Gather and utilize consumer information from other operating divisions and globally to improve category performance. – 10% Desired Qualifications 3-5 years in CPG or similar field Experience working with Loblaw's Category Management experience is a must Sales or Consumer / Trade Marketing background - nice to have University degree
