This is a role for a senior, high energy sales professional who wants to make their mark in a youthful, aggressive, irreverent company in the dynamic industry of media sales.

 

New Revenue Solutions is one of the fastest growing media sales organizations in the world today. They are sales media experts who provide their clients with proven, hands-on solutions to getting the best possible sales results in their own local markets – otherwise said, they are hired guns who help their clients drive bottom-line revenue.

 

This is a sales role with many hats – business development, sales training, and client management and advising. In addition to helping our clients drive new business, the Account Director develops local market strategies with Station management based on industry knowledge and superior analytical skills.  The successful candidate has strong business and problem-solving skills and the ability, based on real-life experience, to be a strategic advisor to NRS’ clients.

 

The Account Director also has prime accountability for delivering our industry leading sales training program and coaching client sales teams in all aspects of successful programme implementation.

 

This individual is the onsite, in-market media sales expert and must have presence and confidence to present and persuade in front of a room of up to 50 people.

 

Mental toughness and strong multi-tasking skills are key attributes that an Account Director must possess to be successful.

Up to 24 weeks of travel per year are also required (throughout Canada).

Position Details:

This is much more than a sales role:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Complete market evaluations and strategize with station management on the necessary steps to achieve the agreed upon revenue target.
  • Facilitate and deliver NRS’ structured sales training program.
  • Train the Station Management, Sales and support staff on the application and usage of NRS’ software and materials that are necessary to run a successful program.
  • Conduct weekly check-ins and coaching to each individual team member to ensure NRS programme is being followed successfully (over an approximate 8 week period).
  • Proactively identify and resolve issues that could adversely impact programme results.
  • Ensure that a critical time-line path is adhered to and followed by both station management and account executives to guarantee positive results.
  • Support and supervise (with assistance of NRS Project Manager), the tasks of coordinating materials, and other onsite logistics for flawless programme execution.
  • Conduct final in-market presentations to target prospect groups identified through 11 week NRS sales training process.

 Required Qualifications:

  • Experience in radio, newspaper and/or television sales with a clear understanding of the sales cycle
  • Substantial business-to-business sales knowledge
  • Superior presentation skills with strong “stage presence”
  • Strong facilitation skills  - you can handle a group with a differing levels of skills and motivation
  • Consultative sales approach
  • Willingness and ability to teach others how to sell successfully
  • Prior training and coaching experience
  • Operating knowledge of a sales organization, including its senior management and what is necessary to motivate them.
  • A desire to move beyond pure sales into a coaching sales management role with the same focus on results.
  • Bilingualism (French/English) would be an asset
  • You can be slightly bent, but not broken
