Our client specializes in software research, development and consulting. They develop leading edge interactive graphical applications. The majority of their work is research-based projects with small teams.
Located in downtown Toronto, they are currently searching for a Project Manager.
Responsibilities
• Ensure project deliverables meet schedule, budget, and quality goals
• Plan, schedule, organize, direct, control and complete all software research and assigned projects and tasks
• Coordinate technical resources as required to insure timely and cost effective completion of assigned tasks and projects
• Define business requirements collaboratively with customer and team
• Define and implement project management practices to meet the requirements
• Define and document roles for staff to meet the project requirements
• Improve and maintain communications with design and development teams
• Document software development
• Report all aspects of project status in the timeframes assigned to both senior management and customer
• Lead project reviews
• Manage timeline of assigned tasks to the baseline
• Identify business development opportunities within the customer
• Manage conflict resolution in a multi-research group environment
• Maintain CMM level 3 for all software developed
Qualifications
• Experience with software technical management, proposal writing and project lifecycles
• Excellent relationship, technical and project management skills
• Highly developed and influential communication, facilitation and presentation skills
• Analytic and problem solving abilities
• Must be innovative having experience with applying new science and technology to operational requirements
• Highly organized self-starter, capable of multitasking and working in a fast paced environment with competing priorities
Minimum requirements
• A university graduate in computer science or engineering
• 10 -15 years of relevant experience
• A minimum 2 years in a managerial role with a background in computer consulting within a major consulting or corporate setting.
• Knowledge of project management best practices
• Highly developed facilitation and presentation skills
• Superior oral and written communication and analytical skill
• A Canadian citizen with a minimum 10 years of residence inCanada
• Travel is required
• PMP or equivalent certification an asset
