Job Description:

Our West Houston, TX client is seeking a Criminal Justice Chairperson.  This client offers a competitive salary and excellent benefits package.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the overall development and supervision of Criminal Justice program courses.
• Work with faculty to identify new program possibilities and initiatives.
• Develop relationships with businesses and industries to strengthen ties to the community.
• Classroom observations.
• Develop and mentor faculty.
• Assist with the scheduling process; covering classes when needed.
• Some teaching (up to 15 hours).
• In conjunction with the Associate Dean and Vice President for Academic Affairs, reconciling student complaints.
• Assist program directors and faculty with academic advising.
• Participate in student events such as registration, new student orientation, and awards ceremonies.
• Evening supervision.

Qualifications:

• Ph.D. in a Criminal Justice or related discipline is required
• Prior teaching experience.
• Minimum two years of professional management experience is required.
• Prior experience with disadvantaged students in a higher education environment is required.
