Job Description:
Our West Houston, TX client is seeking a Criminal Justice Chairperson. This client offers a competitive salary and excellent benefits package. Responsibilities: - Responsible for the overall development and supervision of Criminal Justice program courses.
- Work with faculty to identify new program possibilities and initiatives.
- Develop relationships with businesses and industries to strengthen ties to the community.
- Classroom observations.
- Develop and mentor faculty.
- Assist with the scheduling process; covering classes when needed.
- Some teaching (up to 15 hours).
- In conjunction with the Associate Dean and Vice President for Academic Affairs, reconciling student complaints.
- Assist program directors and faculty with academic advising.
- Participate in student events such as registration, new student orientation, and awards ceremonies.
- Evening supervision.
Qualifications: - Ph.D. in a Criminal Justice or related discipline is required
- Prior teaching experience.
- Minimum two years of professional management experience is required.
- Prior experience with disadvantaged students in a higher education environment is required.
