Our Client is looking for a Senior Server Engineer with real-world experience building extremely scalable and reliable Internet backends to help develop and support their service and web applications. You should have deep proficiency and experience in web-based application development, server-side programming, and SQL, MySQL and other database technologies. To be successful in this position you must be independent, organized, and able to work on multiple fast-paced projects at the same time. You should have a minimum of 2+ years of internet product development experience, 5+ years of database and backend experience, a demonstrated ability to build scalable and reliable systems, and a strong desire to ship a high quality product on time. The candidate best suited for this position will possess strong computer architecture and computer science fundamentals.
Required Skills:
* Expert in C/C++ programming on Linux/Unix
* Extremely bright, logical, and quantitative
* Excellent software engineering skills and experience
* Proficient in SQL and database fundamentals
* Experience in high performing and extremely scalable systems
* Excellent communication skills
* Experience with data synchronization systems (e.g. SyncML) is a plus
* Experience with MIME, qmail or other e-mail technologies is a plus BS, MS or PhD in Computer Science, or equivalent
