Job Description:

Sr. Software Developer - Algorithm Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design and implementation of spam algorithms: Contribute to the design and implementation of new algorithms that more effectively identify new types of messaging abuse and clearly distinguish between abuse and legitimate messages.
• Design and implementation of backend systems: Contribute to design and implementation of data processing systems that can analyze millions of messages per minute. Includes development of automated monitoring/response tools and rapid software prototyping.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate/Graduate degree in computer science, mathematics or related field.
• Solid grasp of algorithms and ability to compare the memory usage, complexity, etc of alternative solutions.
• Proficient in automated data analysis including solid understanding of modern database systems (SQL) and query optimization.
• Several years experience writing code in Perl, C/C++ or a similar language.
• Solid experience developing software in a UNIX environment.
• An understanding of messaging abuse in high volume email environments or mobile messaging environments or social networks is helpful but not essential.
