Operations - Senior Systems Engineer

Responsibilities:

• Provide technical leadership and hands-on contribution in designing, developing and running our messaging security services. servers, and networks, for production services.
• Contribute to the ongoing development of the operations architecture.
• Plan and lead crucial deployment and maintenance operations.
• Provide on-call and scheduled support for the production service.

Qualifications:

Required skills:

• Perl for database and systems administration.
• MySQL expertise, administration, replication.
• SQL expertise: query construction, optimization and indexing.
• TCP/IP services knowledge: should be able to build a service from scratch.
• Big picture view - must be able to view systems in a service-wide context, not just the code components, but how they fit into the production architecture.

Desired Skills:

• C/C++ programming.
• Cacti, Nagios, SNMP.
• Networking.
• Experience with spam prevention.
• BS/MS in computer science or related field.
