Our client  personal care products client is seeking a Supply Chain Planner.

Salary $55K- $65K

 

Position Overview

 

The primary objective of the Supply Chain Planner is to serve as the “voice of the customer” to the operations team.  The top priority of the Supply Chain Planner is to avoid customer service failures (out-of-stocks and late shipments) while meeting the financial goals of the company (inventory turns, plant efficiencies, PPV, transportation, and material wastes).  By finding optimum solutions to the often conflicting objectives of reducing operating costs and working capital while improving customer service levels, the Supply Chain Planner is vital to the overall success of the company.  The Supply Chain Planner will interact with the sales, finance, and operations departments.  Additionally, the Supply Chain Planner will routinely interact with the companies customers. 

 

Primary Responsibilities:

1.       Create, communicate, and maintain mid term (3-13 weeks) production schedules to meet customer requirements and company inventory / financial goals for assigned sku’s.

2.       Create and maintain Compounding production orders to support finished good production schedules.

3.       Create, communicate, and maintain the mid term (3-13 weeks) packaging inventory plans to meet production requirements and company inventory / financial goals for assigned items.

4.       Place and maintain purchase orders for components to support finished goods production schedules.

5.       Prepare weekly customer order status (OSS) reports.

6.       When requested, lead meetings with customers to discuss order status, new product plans, etc.

7.       Implement EOQ methodology for production planning / scheduling for finished goods and component ordering.

8.       Lead monthly S&OP meetings.

9.       Manage changes / modifications to current products to ensure successful transitions for the entire supply chain.

10.   Actively participate in new product development and ensure successful launch of new products.

11.   Prepare monthly Vendor Performance report to track on time delivery and quality defect rates.

12.   Working in coordination with the Purchasing Department, manage supplier relationships in a manner that fosters shared communication of mutually beneficial cost savings, value-added services, and quality improvement opportunities.

 

Specific Measures of Job Performance

1.       Achieve >98% order fill rate for existing products

2.       Achieve >95% order fill rate for new products

3.       Support company-wide efforts to deliver favorable PPV of $1.5 Million in 2009

4.       Meet or exceed goal of X inventory turns per year.

5.       Maintain excess and obsolete inventory levels of X% of sales

 

Job Requirements:

 

1.       Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

2.       3 years of planning/scheduling experience in a consumer packaged goods, pharmaceutical, or similar manufacturing environment

3.       Experience with MS Office and ERP systems. 

4.       Experience managing new product launches.

5.       Solid project management skills.

6.       Advanced MS Excel skills.

7.       APICS certification is a plus.

8.       Oracle experience/familiarity

9.       Demand planning/forecasting, planning, and/or production experience a plus.

10.   Experience in a FDA regulated (cGMP) environment is a plus
