Job Description:

Procurement Services Associates has an immediate opportunity for an Over Seas client as a Contract Administrator.  The position requires the candidate to manage the contracts and procurement function for a project form inception through completion.  Functional scope includes development of the project contracts and procurement strategy, administration of the prime contract between the client and its customer, contract formation, contract administration, claims, and procurement activities.  Manages Contracts and Procurement staff assigned to the project.  Engineering Construction experience is a key.

 

Job Responsibilities:

 

  • Degree in Business, Quantity Surveying, Law, Engineering, Construction Management or Cost Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Membership of a relevant professional body
  • Demonstrated experience in pricing, contract law, contract and purchase order drafting, administration and negotiation of change orders and revisions, effective correspondence, planning and scheduling
  • Thorough knowledge of prime contract administration as well as contract/subcontract formation and administration, purchase order formation and administration, execution office and field procedures, and documents relating to a multi-discipline construction project.
  • Proficiency in the formation and administration of (sub)contracts and purchase orders from bidder pre-qualification, compilation of bid requests, receipt of bids, bid evaluation, through award, monitoring the performance of contractors and suppliers, back charge procedures, resolution of claims and disputes.
  • Proven ability to write first class complex contracts and procurement related letters and documents in English.
  • Technical and administrative knowledge of engineering/construction industry contracting/purchasing practices, government and commercial procurement regulations and practices, procedures and work practices.
