We are seeking an experienced Lead Software (Database) Engineer with the following:
* Looking for START UP EXPERIENCE or that type of fluid environment. Experience in and able to switch between multiple projects.
* Experience working with rich content. (Media, Music, Video, etc.) or a product or website that works with these type of rich contents.
* Someone up to date on pop culture, Music, and/or Video in your professional or personal life.
(We are not looking for a DBA)
Skills: Unix, Java, Perl, Server Side, Oracle, ERwin, JDBC, XML
REQUIREMENTS
Produced two or more commercial server-side applications using technologies such as relational databases, 3GLs, and batch processes.
Solid in Java, C, Ruby, Lisp, or an equivalent 3GL.
Solid in perl, python, or an equivalent scripting language.
Solid in server-side application development and 24/7/365 batch and daemon processes.
Solid with UNIX as a development and deployment platform.
Solid with source code control and production deployment practices.
Working experience with JDBC and XML technologies.
Working experience developing complex reports and data analysis.
Experience with database design and large database development.
Experience with Oracle databases.
Experience using schema design tools such as ERwin.
Excellent ability to learn systems and processes by reading code.
Excellent communication skills.
Good trouble shooting skills.
Four year college degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.

Experience scaling database programs and server-side applications.
Experience with non-Oracle relational databases like Postgres and MySQL.
Experience in developing XML Schema, XSLT and XQuery.
Experience supporting database production operations over a multi-year period.
Knowledge of multi-byte character sets.
You will design and implement significant portions of code, leveraging your work across more than one product – you will be a key individual contributor. You will often be the go-to person for difficult assignments and solving issues that arise. You must be highly self-motivated, creative, and able to deal effectively and successfully with multiple projects at the same time.
Part of your job will require working with an established system, you must be able to get up-to-speed quickly by reading code, reviewing production processes, and developing test and use cases of your own
As a lead developer on new projects, you will be expected to create, maintain, and own technical specifications, designs, and schedules with little direction from your manager.
