Job Description:
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: o Support a large MPLS environment providing service to multiple State entities. o Ensure incidents (open issues) are addressed in alignment with NOC policies and procedures. This includes customer notifications, updates, and escalations. o Develop post mortem documents and analysis for any issues as required. o Determine permanent solutions to unique or chronic problems. o Perform systems monitoring & analysis to provide stable, dependable network services and ensure SLA compliance. o Provide operations reports and metrics to upper management. o Train and Mentor Tier 1 and 2 Network Operations Center (NOC) analysts. MANAGEMENT EXPERIENCE: 1. Strong operational experience in a Service Provider environment. 2. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 3. Must be able to multi-task and work in a collaborative environment. TECHNICAL EXPERIENCE: 1. Hands on experience with network management utilities, including monitoring for outages, capacity, performance, and SLA compliance. 2. Minimum 7 plus years experience troubleshooting MPLS/VPN, CEF, LSP, LDP, VRF-Lite. Must be able to verify routing advertisement across the MPLS Backbone. 3. Strong background configuring, installing, troubleshooting, and maintaining: Cisco 65xx and Cisco 76xx using Supervisor 720xx modules. 4. Working knowledge in activating, provisioning, and troubleshooting T1, T3, OC3, OC12 and OC-48 links within the MPLS Core as well as customer facing links. 5. Strong understanding of BGP, OSPF, and EIGRP. Must be very strong with BGP in a service provider environment. 6. Strong working knowledge of MPLS from the Provider Edge (PE) into the core Provider network. CERTIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION: CCNP Required CCIP Required Prefer CCIE in Routing/Switching OR Service Provider 4 year college degree in CS or electrical engineering is a plus
