Primary Accountabilities:
1. Develops and implements testing techniques, plans, and scripts to sufficiently test the functionality and load capacity of new and existing applications by working with information technology personnel and business users and utilizing appropriate quality assurance tools and techniques.
2. Modifies and maintains both manual and automated test scripts, as required, to accommodate new software releases of target applications.
3. Provides performance and functional test results on the test and production application systems to allow information technology personnel to make informed and knowledgeable application and database upgrades.
4. Participates in the development of guidelines and standards for all, existing and future, applications, databases, and systems.
5. In conjunction with other information technology teams, designs and maintains a monitoring framework that monitors all production systems and applications, as well as alerts production application owners and teams as appropriate.
6. May direct or perform activities, which include but are not limited to, obtaining requirements for and performing capacity testing, obtaining and analyzing systems performance data, and evaluating targeted application user interfaces.
7. Prepares activity and progress reports for software quality assurance activities and provides status reports to information technology management as required or apparent.
8. Maintains and increases professional and technical knowledge by attending workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.
9. Performs other duties as assigned or apparent.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY: ay lead or supervise a test team. Provides direction and acts as a resource for less experienced quality assurance analysts.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Master's degree in computer science or a related field required. Must have sufficient educational background and/or experience to work on most phases of software quality assurance analyst activities.
Two years of SQL and Quick Test Professional (QTP)/LoadRunner or experience in a related field is required.
At least two years of professional experience in quality assurance required.
A general understanding and knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within the quality assurance field is required.
Knowledge and experience working with automated test tools, database analysis tools, and network test and simulation tools strongly preferred.
Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills to effectively interact with internal and external customers and department staff.
Must have the ability to prioritize and perform multiple tasks simultaneously.
Must possess a high level of maturity and have an affinity for accuracy and thoroughness.
Additional Job Description Details:
Excellent positive and negative test case design and analysis skills
Experience in performing SQL queries on Oracle databases
Advanced experience in implementing QTP scripts (reusable and easy to maintain) to automate test cases
Experienced in creating QTP scripts on Java Swing applications and/or Oracle Forms with a familiarity in accessing internal (native) methods and properties of an object.
Experienced in creating LoadRunner scripts, scenarios and analyzing the results under different protocols including an Oracle client protocol.
Experience withQuality Center tool -Self starter/independent worker
Knowledge of Oracle Financials a strong plus
Knowledge of accounting and finance concepts (Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Collections, General Ledger, Fixed Assets etc) a strong plus
Experience in testing in both waterfall and agile environments
Enjoyment of working with numbers, calculations, and formulas
