Description
The PC Rolling Refresh program deploys new laptop and desktop computers to client users. The main function of a PC Rolling Refresh desktop technician is to replace a user's current machine with a new unit and recover the old asset to secure data and facilitate inventory control. The task involves configuring and installing a new laptop of desktop computer to the user and performing all data transfer of user's local files. A Refresh technician typically has an Associate degree in computer science or equivalent training with previous experience in Windows systems administration and PC hardware support.
The Refresh technician is expected to have strong knowledge in the following hardware and software technologies: Microsoft Windows XP operating system, Microsoft Office 2003 and 2007, Exchange email client configuration, Internet Explorer configuration, Local Area Network, Wifi, data backup, transport, and restoration procedures.
Education/Experience
Associate degree in computer science or related field or equivalent training/education required
5-7 years experience required

Major Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Configure and install new laptop, desktop, printers and support peripherals to end users.
Identify and migrate all user data from old computer to new computer.
Test and verify hardware and support peripherals to ensure that they meet Client’s corporate security specifications and requirements.
Monitor functioning of equipment and make necessary modifications to ensure the system operates in conformance with corporate standards.
