Job Description:

Duration: 11/2/09-12/31/09 – 2 months

Location: Central, SC

       Reviews department or division paperwork for accuracy and/or to facilitate various financial aid or financial services processes, within established organization policies and procedures.

       Processes money received by campus or division operations by entering cash batches, preparing deposits, reconciling payments and posting fund transactions to accounts according to established company procedures and guidelines.

       May perform administrative functions associated with business operations, which may include preparing month-end cash reconciliation and/or daily cash reports, assisting with the preparation of budgets, preparing reports, processing refunds, and tracking paperwork or invoices.

       Prepares and processes routine or special reports, as directed by management, to provide an accurate account of various activities.

       Inputs, updates, and tracks financial services documents, which may include financial aid documents, to facilitate and support the input, processing and retrieval of student financial information.

       May assist with billing and collection procedures to support the attainment of acceptable accounts receivables levels.

       Maintains student files to provide a complete historical source of information for employees to retrieve student financial information.

       Performs research and follow up on outstanding business operations or student issues to provide or assist in providing some resolution.

       Performs other duties as assigned or apparent.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

       High school diploma or equivalent education required.

       One to two years accounting and customer service experience preferred.

       Must have the ability to follow oral and written directions as they relate to the functions listed above.

       Must have the ability to perform basic mathematical calculations using a ten key adding machine and/or a calculator.

       Must have familiarity of a personal computer and spreadsheet and word-processing software packages.

       Must have the ability to handle multiple tasks in a timely and effective manner.

       Must have good oral, written and interpersonal communication skills to communicate the status of projects and related information to perform the functions listed above.
