Our highly successful client in the service industry located in Leduc is seeking a Part-Time Controller to provide leadership in financial reporting and guidance to management. This newly created role is the result of the exceptional continued growth of this private company and the need for a higher level of in-house finance and accounting expertise.
Core Duties:
The Part Time Controller will take overall responsibility for full cycle accounting operations
Preparing timely and accurate financial statements together with Management’s Discussion and Analysis, including appropriate analysis, commentary and management reports.
Establishing and maintaining financial policies and procedures to ensure proper accounting standards and controls;
Development of a formal budget process
Development of a cash flow reporting process
Ensure banking compliance reporting is completed on a timely and accurate basis
Improving the internal control process
Lead the development of ongoing process improvement
Assist in the review of both customer and vendor agreements
Working closely with the operational team to identify areas for improved performance and cost control
Ability to identify opportunities for improvement on a proactive basis
Required Skills:
An accounting designation - CMA / CGA / CA
Minimum 5 years of experience in a senior financial position preferably in a Controller role
Ability to provide financial guidance to senior management
Strong business acumen with the ability to communicate with all levels of employees
Good knowledge of advanced ERP systems – Navision preferred
Ability to contribute to enhance the business beyond the role of a financial accountant
Solid written and oral communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with management, staff and external service providers
Willing to work in a part time role of approximately 24 hours per week (3 days)
