Our Edmonton public company client is currently in search of a Plant Controller for one of their rural Alberta Operations. Reporting to the Division General Manager you will provide leadership for the division finance team. Your responsibilities will include budgeting, financial reporting, process improvement and assisting in the development of new processes to support the continued successful operations of this exceptional company.
Core Duties:
- As Plant Controller you will prepare detailed analysis of financial results in comparison to budget on a monthly basis
- Assist in the development of financial reports to meet public company reporting standards
- Ensure an adequate system of internal controls for financial reporting is maintained
- Identify opportunities for process improvement
- Mentor finance team members
Required Skills:
- Formal accounting designation (preferably a CA)
- 7 or more years of Oil & Gas, Mining or Forestry experience
- Use of JD Edwards or advanced ERP system would be an asset
- Strong analytical and Excel skills
- Ability to work well within a Finance team
- Strong understanding of Canadian GAAP
