Job Description:
To oversee day-to-day operations for a highway and bridge project ranging in value from $5 million to $50+ million, ensuring that the project is completed safely, within schedule and within budget, in a manner consistent with Company policies and procedures. Supervise project personnel and provide technical advice to resolve problems. Responsibilities also include project financial reporting and profitability and development of good working relationships with Owners and subcontractors. Essential Functions: - Coordinate plans and supervise field staff, subcontractors and craft activities for the entire project.
- Maintain liaison with other department managers to insure all required materials, equipment, and inspections support the project schedule.
- Track all job costs and monthly forecasts in an accurate and timely manner.
- Review and execute contract change orders.
- Ensure accurate and timely billing to owner.
- Interact with owners and Company to ensure issues are addressed.
- Oversee job scheduling.
- Communicate with field managers to ensure efficient and productive work in a timely manner.
- Ensure that accurate records of significant activities or delays are documented.
- Ensure compliance with company policy and procedures.
- Ensure safe work conditions.
- Perform additional assignments as needed.
Required Education: - Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering.
Required Experience: - Minimum 8 years’ heavy civil construction experience and demonstrated experience as a project manager on large heavy/highway projects.
Required Skills & Knowledge: - Knowledge of heavy highway construction, underground, concrete structures and earthwork.
- Thorough knowledge of heavy construction equipment.
- Demonstrated decision making skills.
- Ability to work in high production environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Accuracy at all times.
- Ability to respond quickly and effectively under pressure and deadlines.
