Our client seeks a research scientist to lead the in vitro characterization of compounds that target membrane proteins. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing and validating novel HTS assays, will oversee the performance of existing assays and will supervise the in vitro support for medicinal chemistry programs. He or she will supervise Research Associates to conduct these studies. The level of this appointment will be commensurate with the experience level of the chosen candidate.
Qualifications
Ph.D. in pharmacology, neuroscience or related field
Postdoctoral training and/or experience establishing and validating cell based and ligand binding assays and quantifying pharmacological effects in these assays.
Expert knowledge of ion transport and cell signaling mechanisms
Expert knowledge of HTS screening methodologies using cell based assays.
Drug discovery project experience
Demonstrated leadership and supervisory skills
Strong oral and written communication skills
Enthusiasm for laboratory work, good problem solving abilities and dedication to team work.
