Growing Building Material Wholesaler is looking for an Outside Sales position working with the retail lumber dealers in Vermont. Experience selling Trusses, EWP and Structural materials a plus.
Source and obtain customers on an ongoing basis by developing business and personal relationships with the key personnel at each dealer. Continually nurture this relationship in order to earn the respect of our customer.
Maximize sales in established territory to meet or exceed sales and profit goals set annually with your Sales Manager.
Enthusiastically present building material products and promotions to dealers. Demonstrate to dealers how they can enhance their bottom line by selling products stocked and distributed by us.
Make regularly scheduled sales calls on dealers to promote products and nurture the relationship with your customer.
Participate in making joint sales calls to our dealer's customers, attending builder shows, breakfast meetings, consumer DIY clinics open houses, and grand opening events. Help create a pull through environment for the products we sell.
Strong communication skills necessary.
Investigate material complaints as the manufacturer's product representative/adjuster. Act as an information liaison between our dealer and vendor to insure timely resolution on all claims.

As an Outside Salesperson, you are charged with a great responsibility. You are the territory manager of the geography that you serve. Your overriding role in this company is to create new business and personal relationships with your customers. You lead the primary sales effort on many of our most profitable products and services. This job is not a job that would have you keep a regular 8:00 - 5:00 schedule. In fact, some of the most meaningful time you will spend building your business will be before and after those hours. Personal relationships are what drive our business and you would be on the leading edge of this endeavor.
