Job Description:

Senior L2 Protocol Systems Engineer/Architect

Qualifications:

• B.S./M.S. CS/CE/EE with seven or more years of relevant technical leadership experience
• Requires in depth working knowledge of distributed systems and stacking topologies.
• Must have experience in the following Layer 2 and switch technology areas:

- L2 Forwarding, VLANs (802.1q), MAC Table, Static and 802.3ad LACP trunking
- L2 Protocols such as 802.1d STP, 802.1w RSTP, 802.1s MSTP, IGMP snooping and others
- ACLs and Policy Based VLANs
- 802.1x and network element security feature

• You must have a good understanding of the product release cycle, and technology and product boundaries in order to phase in complex functionality based on market timing and customer needs.
• Strong C/C++ programming skills
• Excellent written, verbal and presentation communication skills
• Knowledge of IP multicasting protocols is a plus
