Engineer - Engineering Support
POSITION
My client is seeking a highly motivated Engineer to provide high quality developer support. Technical Support at my cleint is situated directly within the Engineering group because they build a complex product and supporting it requires significant engineering experience. The Engineer in their Technical Support group will provide in-depth technical assistance and remote troubleshooting to customers, work closely with the Engineering and Sales organizations to ensure customer success, assist junior members of the engineering staff with case analysis and communications, and manage projects as assigned. This is a high visibility position and requires a unique combination of strong technical and customer& facing skills.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
* 5+ years industry experience in technical support, professional services, or software engineering
* 3+ years experience with programming in Java or C#
* Hands on experience implementing, troubleshooting and supporting Internet based applications
* Outstanding organization, follow through, problem solving skills, and attention to detail
* Strong understanding of XML and XML-related technologies such as XSLT
* Strong Linux and/or Windows administration skills (e.g. shell scripting, process automation)
* Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
* BS degree in Computer Science or related technical degree or equivalent experience
* Knowledge of XQuery is a plus
* Experience programming in C++ is a plus
* Content management (e.g. Documentum) or database (e.g. Oracle) experience is highly desirable
