• Problem analysis and resolution for Windows and Linux workstations and servers and for other related peripherals and systems
• Intel-hardware based Linux server installation, deployment, and upgrade
• Work effectively with other technical teams (operations, networking, project managers, etc.)
• Participate in on call rotation with team members to provide 24x7 technical support for Unix classified lab work stations, servers and services
• Multi-protocol platform environment experience
• Ability to communicate well with end users and client management
• Overall server cluster architecture design and deployment

Basic Qualifications:

• Hands on experience with various technologies and skills including: networking, security, Linux and kernel hardening, systems integration, advanced troubleshooting, and authentication/authorization services
• 5+ years Linux (SuSE is a plus) experience in a medium to high complexity production environment Clustering, Patching, Configuration Management and Control methodologies
• Experience in implementing and documenting systems for high volume production environments
• Excellent troubleshooting skill and ability to understand complex relationships between components of the overall systems architecture
• Solid knowledge of operating system internals, file system structures and machine architectures
• Ability to monitor, analyze, test and tune the operating system
• Broad knowledge of networking and networking applications
• Advanced Linux experience
• Familiarity with Intel-based server hardware
  Familiarity with network and system security tools
  Experience with SAN technology is a strong plus
• Experience with Network Security and Intrusion Detection Systems
• Security conscious and thorough understanding of fundamental
  networking principles, including protocols such as TCP, UDP, IP v4/6
