Data Center Operations Manager
Role Profile
The Data Center Operations Manger’s essential responsibility is to maintain all aspects of the company’s data center facilities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Oversee and manage day-to-day operation of corporate data centers; provide leadership to Operations team for supporting data center infrastructure, servers, storage, and environment
Establish processes to effectively manage online and batch production operations
Effectively provide 24x7 support and meet client SLA requirements
Responsible for ensuring that data center documentation, security, and best practices operational controls are maintained; create, review, manage operational processes to ensure consistency and regulatory compliance for all data center services
Ensure a proper system management environment to monitor and alarm all critical data center operations
Manage vendor relationships
Essential Skills, Experience and Education
10+ years prior experience in data center, IT systems & network administration
5+ years of data center operations experience that includes capacity planning, forecasting, disaster recovery planning and implementation, and business continuity
Current technical expertise in the development and implementation of IT infrastructure (windows servers, SAN storage, networking, security, backup, virtual computing, etc)
Deep hardware architecture experience (highly available systems, storage, benchmarking)
Experience with monitoring and remote management solutions
BS in technical discipline or equivalent experience; advanced degree a plus
Ability to interact with team members in multiple cultures and time zones
Demonstrated competence to prioritize and manage multiple projects while maintaining operational excellence
Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal, and problem solving skills with a high degree of integrity and discretion
Need to be able to assist the team in the data center by physically being able to rack and move equipment
