Job Description:

Software Engineer – Linux

SUMMARY

We are looking for well-rounded developer with experience in Linux development, including familiarity with Linux based application servers. This person will be responsible for developing data management applications and integrating existing products into companystorage appliances. 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

• Modify existing applications to integrate with company appliances, taking advantage of Linux as well as virtualization platforms (e.g. VMware, Xen, etc.)
• Participate in the development of new Linux based data management applications
• Work with QA to ensure the code delivered is of high quality.

QUALIFICATIONS

Skills

• Excellent Linux programming skills
• Excellent communication skills.

Knowledge & Experience

• Minimum of 3+ years experience in a Linux/Unix environment, including:
  • Bash shell or Perl scripting
  • Familiarity with Linux CLI
• Hands on experience with one or more virtualization platforms (e.g. VMware, Xen, etc.).
• 2+ years of hands on experience in C or Java (C++ knowledge an advantage)
• Development experience with databases
• Storage domain (data management) expertise is a plus
• BS/MS degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
• Demonstrated ability to have completed multiple moderately complex technical tasks
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
