Senior RF/Mixed-Signal IC Design Engineer
Location: San Diego, California
Status: Full-time/Direct-hire
Duties:
• You will work with a team of IC designers and systems engineers to develop high-performance RF and mixed-signal circuits for company’s next-generation products.
• Your responsibilities will focus on detailed design, implementation, and evaluation of major circuit blocks.
• You will participate in integration of these designs into the products and will be responsible for design validation and characterization through product release.
Requirements:
•Candidate must have a strong academic background with research work or industry experience in at least one of the following areas: analog/mixed-signal circuits (data converters, filters, analog building blocks), frequency synthesis and clock generation circuits (crystal oscillators, DLLs, integer-N and fractional-N PLLs), or RF circuits (LNAs, mixers, filters, PAs, and microwave circuits).
• Candidate must have IC tapeout experience in research or industry work, and you should have hands-on experience testing and debugging your own designs in the lab.
• Candidate must have familiarity with wireless or wire-line communication standards and how high-level requirements translate to block-level specifications.
• Candidate must demonstrate a clear understanding of relevant block-level specifications, such as NF, IIP2, IIP3, phase noise, and dynamic range.
• Candidate must have experience with industry-standard simulation and design tools, such as Spectre, Spectre RF, Virtuoso, and Matlab.
• Within your area of expertise, you must show a clear understanding of fundamental concepts and design tradeoffs.
• Communication and presentation skills are critical, and you should show a strong desire and potential to participate in technology development.
• Education: Master of Science or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering.
