Senior RF/Mixed-Signal IC Design Engineer (RF Signal Path focus)
Location: San Diego, California
Status: Full-time/Direct-hire
Duties:
• You will work with a team of IC designers and systems engineers to lead the development of deep submicron CMOS RF transceivers for company’s next-generation products.
• You will define the architecture based on high-level specifications and lead the implementation of RF signal chains and constituent blocks.
• You will participate in integration of these designs into products and will be responsible for design validation, debug, and characterization through product release.
Requirements:
• Candidate must have 5+ years of experience designing RF signal chains and sub-blocks, such as LNAs, RF variable gain/attenuation stages, filters, LO generation, mixers, and PAs.
• Candidate’s experience should include taking designs from concept through productization.
• Candidate must have in-depth knowledge of wireless or wire-line communication specifications and derivation of block-level requirements from high-level specifications.
• Candidate must have hands-on experience testing your own designs in the lab, and you must be able to define characterization and production test techniques for all building blocks.
• Candidate must be familiar with analog circuits, data converters, and PLLs.
• Candidate must show a clear understanding of the architectural issues in RF circuits and systems, such as and tradeoffs and design choices required to meet noise and linearity performance.
• Communication and presentation skills are critical, and you should show a strong desire and potential to lead technology development.
• Education: Master of Science or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering.
