Senior Software Engineer
Location: Sorrento Valley
Contract: 4-6 months (possibly longer)
MUST be US Citizen or US Permanent Resident
Position Responsibilities:
Develop test applications for system validation.
Create device drivers for peripheral components (Discrete controller, etc.).
Facilitate system integration at BSP and device driver level.
Contribute to software procedures, software users manuals and software release notes.
Produce and maintain common look and feel software.
Interface with hardware development and DVT teams.
Manage change requests assigned and proactively create change requests when problems are discovered.
Report weekly on status to the Software Development Manager.
Provide accurate and up-to-date schedules for tasks assigned regularly.
Travel to customer sites and training facilities as required.
Skills and Experience:
Prior experience developing embedded software.
Experience with Power PC and Intel microprocessors would be preferred.
Experience with Linux, VxWorks, LynxOS, Windows, INTEGRITY and/or BIOS.
Experience with integrated development environment tools.
Prior experience developing requirements, design and test documentation.
Knowledge of industry standard bus architectures such as VME, PCI, VPX, PCI Express, and Serial Rapid IO.
Previous experience with tools for the debug of board level products.
A minimum of eight years software development experience using C and/or assembler.
A working knowledge of CMM/CMMI/SEI is desired.
Minimum Education requirements:
Bachelors degree in Computer Science (or equivalent).
