The VP for Technology Operations is responsible for the Technical Operations team which is comprised of the Network Services group (4 members) and the Support Services group (6 people).

The Role:

The VP of Technical Operations is responsible for ensuring the 24x7x365 continuous and successful operation of all production technology used throughout the family of companies, including 2 data centers (Burbank/Las Vegas) as well as ensuring that our approximately 1000 users across 20 locations (CA, LA, FL & Puerto Vallarta, Mexico) work trouble-free, fully utilizing the technology available to them.


 

Key Deliverables:

 

Technical Operations

 

         Expertise in day to day management of data center operations in multi-server, multi-site environments, including larger server farms (60+ servers) including Windows and AS400 servers and utilizing multiple Windows server applications including Exchange, SQL, SharePoint, SMS, MOM, CRM, ISA, Proxy.

MUST HAVE AS400 experience in your background to be considered. 

         Develops, executes and manages IT plan of operations to achieve operational excellence and customer satisfaction, including: computer operations, network systems and technical support, database administration, help desk, end-user field support and education, application development and support, telecommunications, and outsourced technical services.

         Provides internal client groups with IT solutions that are responsive to their needs. Specifically ensure that the IT function meets expectations on projects, timetables, service levels and budgets.

         Responsible for architecture planning and performance capacity/utilization review. Experienced with managing a broad range of architectures, from back-end, batch-oriented systems to highly distributed internet based systems.

         Ensures the integrity and security of data and systems including appropriate contingency and disaster recovery plans and off-site data center. Plans, implements and maintains defenses against security breaches and vulnerability issues. Also responsible for auditing existing systems, while directing the administration of security policies, activities and standards.

         Expertise in telecommunications including phone and voice mail systems, call accounting, voice over IP, networking, cellular/wireless voice and data solutions, voice and video conferencing.

         Expertise in wide area networking with ISDN, VPN, Frame Relay, ATM and MPLS using Cisco technologies.

         Experience in support of payroll and financial applications, particularly general ledger, accounts payable, fixed asset, accounts receivable, budget/forecasting and decision support systems. Expertise in JD Edwards and Kronos highly desirable.

         Experience in support of intranet, internet and portal applications.

         Experience in managing and working with developers including requirements definitions, solution design, development, testing, deployment, training and ongoing support.

 

         Lead the development and implementation of improved standardized processes.

 

         Skilled at contract negotiations and vendor management.

 

         Capable of supporting significant and rapid strategic growth initiatives.

 

         Willingness and ability to be hands on with technology in all areas of responsibility.

 

         Able to effectively communicate IT value to organization.

 

Service Excellence

 

         Creates and leads service driven IT organization. Cultivates business-value orientation and leadership abilities at all levels of IT organization. Develops best in class IT function that attracts and retains high talent individuals.

         Ensures the Technical Operations team achieves excellent satisfaction ratings in annual customer survey.

         Responsible for interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work, appraising performance; rewarding and mentoring employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems for team of 10.

         Demonstrated success in leading diverse team in multiple services areas in fast paced, high volume environment while achieving both employee and customer satisfaction.

 

Audit & Compliance

         Effectively managed quarterly IT internal and annual external Audit to conform to board requirements and Sarbanes–Oxley standards.

 

         Ensures technical systems and computer user compliance with all laws, licensing and industry best practices, including but not limited to HIPAA. Establishes and directs policies and procedures for the company’s information technology needs.

 

Qualifications:

         Bachelor’s degree required.

         7 to 10 years experience leading large scale data center operations.

         Demonstrated history of motivating and coaching employees to achieve both personal and organizational objectives.

         Must have proven experience in achieving successful IT audit results.

         Demonstrated history of achievement in fast paced, high growth environment while handling multiple projects and overseeing a variety of services.

         Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.

         Must be able to effectively collaborate and communicate with a diverse range of people at various levels in the organization.

         Analytical skills and demonstrated ability to solve complex business problems.

         Must be proficient with Microsoft Office tools such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

         Must be able to travel as needed to perform the role.

 

Compensation and Benefits:

Company offers a Base salary will be commensurate with experience.   Bonus potential will be up to 30% based upon successful completion of defined goals and objectives.
