Job Description:

Our client is a large financial services company involved in global initiatives and is currently undertaking a large transformation from a decentralized organization to a strong centralized organization model that is common in large banks and financial institutions.

They are currently looking for a seasoned Technical Writer to assist with their EIM (Enterprise Information Management) Program.

Location:   Greater Detroit Area 

Duration:  approx. 5-6 months

Compensation:  Candidates, in order to be considered would need to come be open to a flat monthly rate of approx. $8,000 CDN per month (and that would have to include expenses).  This would equate to a full-time salary basis of $96,000 per year. Ideally, candidates would relocate themselves to the Detroit/Windsor area for the duration of the project in order to avoid long commutes.

Description: Responsible for preparing and reviewing text for printed and on-line manuals and related technical documentation, and is accountable for ensuring all written text is complete and accurate. Applies an understanding of customer requirements and the end-users' level of technical aptitude when writing/editing documentation. May serve as a team lead/technical expert for a project section or entire project. Interviews developers and other experts to understand design and test specifications, diagrams, and schematics. Has thorough understanding of technical concepts required for specialized field. Uses that knowledge, creativity and company practices and priorities to obtain solutions to complex problems. BSc. Degree and 6 + years or equivalent.

Competencies:

1)Ability to understand the customer's technical requirements translate their requirements into technical documentation

2)Excellent written communication skills in relation to technical documentation

3)Expert knowledge of technical platforms and development life cycles

4)Experience working on Data Warehouse initiatives.

Makes self fully available, especially when customer is going through a critical period. Keeps customers up-to-date about progress of projects or problems/issue resolution activities. Interacts closely with the customer to understand his needs/requirements. Actively facilitates group processes during team meetings; encourages participation from all team members. Technical Skills: Microsoft Word and FrontPage, Visio, eHelp Corporation RoboHELP, User/Sys/Q-Start/Training guides; Install Instruct.;Rel notes; Bus processes.
