Overall Accountability

The ATD is responsible for providing technical production support and enhancement of the production pipeline.

Duties

• Develop and maintain leading-edge proprietary tools/shaders/plugins/scripts used in CG production under the guidance of the CG Supervisor.
• Devise and innovate methods of working that meet production requirements.
• Create scripts in VBScript and/or Python allowing automation of specific tasks.
• Assist in the development of a production pipeline.
• Provide additional technical support and training to production teams as needed.
• Interact with the IT staff with respect to operating, file, and network systems issues.
• Attend regular production and department meetings.
• Acquire and maintain up-to-date knowledge in the relevant fields.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computing Science, Mathematics, Physics or related disciplines is an asset.
• Knowledge of CG Feature Animation or Visual Effects.
• Knowledge of UNIX/Linux, procedural and object-oriented programming languages.
• Production knowledge of XSI, Maya, VBScript, Python and MEL an asset.
• Excellent problem solving and communication skills.
