Informatica – Business Intelligence ETL Developer

Expectations: 

Our client is currently seeking a candidate to join their Business Intelligence Team. Candidate will develop new and support existing custom and packaged applications.  The preferred candidate must possess development skills in ETL, relational database design, relational database development, and reporting.  The ideal candidate possesses an in-depth knowledge of Data Warehouse concepts and experience building custom Business Intelligence solutions.

The candidate will develop, implement and support various software applications and systems utilizing several core technologies including Informatica, Business Objects, and SQL Server.

Major Functions/Responsibilities:

• The candidate’s initial primary focus will be transforming source system data to an Enterprise Data Warehouse and building Business Intelligence solutions on the front-end.
• Develop applications in accordance to business requirements, specifications, industry best practices, and departmental development standards.
• Provide proven communication, analytical, and problem solving skills to help support the development process, and to ensure that the project deliverables are met according to specification.
• Follow SDLC methodology in all development activities.
• Must be able to analyze business functional requirements and translate them into technical design specifications.
• Work with Technical Lead and Enterprise Architect to develop the design of technical solutions for business strategies
• Use design documents to develop code for IT solutions
• Create, document, and perform unit and integration testing plans as required based on design documentation
• Must be client focused in a team oriented environment, as well as working autonomously reporting priorities and progress.
• The candidate will work on various interrelated projects consisting of end-to-end system architecture, iterative prototyping, software engineering, and enhancements.
• Perform assignments using established practices, procedures, and processes
• Desire and strong motivation to rapidly learn and implement new technologies
• The environment is fast paced and energetic with tight deadlines.

 Requirements / Skills:

• 3+ Years ETL experience (1+ Years Informatica experience)
• 3+ Years Business Objects Experience strongly preferred (Universe Design & Report Development).
• Data Warehouse design and implementation experience.
• In-Depth knowledge of Data Warehouse concepts, dimensional modeling, enterprise data warehouses, and star schema data marts.
• In-Depth knowledge of Business Intelligence concepts (Dashboards, Scorecards, OLAP)
• Experience developing Business Intelligence Applications (Business Objects, Hyperion, Cognos, etc.)
• Proficient in SQL
• 3+ Years experience with RDBMS design and development (SQL Server a plus)
• Experience analyzing source systems and mapping data to Enterprise Data Warehouse
• Experience in all stages of SDLC

Other Considerations:

• Insurance industry experience is a plus
• B.S. in Computer Science or related experience
