Java Developer

Location:  Indianapolis, downtown

Duration:  6 months, contract to hire

Job Description:

The System Engineer is responsible for the entire development life cycle for assigned projects. This position has direct contact with the customer, and is responsible for gathering and interpreting customer requirements, as well as the design, development, testing, and documentation of multiple web applications. Production support and managing enhancements for applications are also required. The position requires an individual to be self-motivated with strong analytical, problem solving, oral and written communication skills. Additionally, the candidate will need to work effectively with limited supervision in a team environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• To analyze, design and develop software solutions
• To follow all Information Technology methodologies and procedures
• To advise and assist other Information Technology staff
• To provide solutions to daily operational problems for software systems as assigned
• Special Projects as assigned

Preferred Qualifications and Minimum Requirements:

• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or relevant discipline or equivalent combination of professional training and experience is required
• A minimum of three years programming experience is required
• Proficiency in Java (J2EE/JSP/Servlets/JDBC/JavaBeans) is required
• Proficiency in relational database is required
• Proficiency HTML, JavaScript, CSS is required
• Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing is required
• J2EE Web Application Servers (preferably Tomcat) is desired
