As a Senior Asset Accountant, you will be responsible for the financial management of several large assets and/or projects located throughout the United States and will report to the Controller.
The scope of responsibility for the Senior Asset Accountant is broad and includes both accounting and operational responsibilities. The Senior Accountant is tasked with managing a range of duties, including, but not limited to: invoicing, cash flow, distributing excess cash back to investors, investor reporting, variance analysis, reading and interpreting contracts, budgeting and forecasting and the review of tax returns. The Senior Accountant will be sound in technical accounting and also have the ability to problem solve.
Key Accountabilities
- Full accounting and general ledger responsibility including preparation of monthly stand alone and consolidated financial statements for multiple operating companies.
- Preparation of monthly investor reports.
- Monthly variance analysis.
- Prepare account analyses and reconciliations.
- Read, interpret and apply project and transaction contracts.
- Managing accounts payable process for multiple projects.
- Involvement with annual audit including working directly with external auditors and preparing the draft audit reports.
- Review of annual member tax returns.
- Involvement with annual operating budget preparation process.
- Preparation of monthly cash flow forecasts.
- Respond to member questions and requests for analysis.
- Preparation of quarterly un-audited financials for various parties.
- Research US GAAP/IFRS accounting literature as required.
- Special projects as required.
Education/Experience Requirements
- College degree required - BS in Accounting is preferred
- 5+ years of experience
- Significant experience in full cycle accounting
- Good MS Excel and writing skills are a must
