Applications Engineer

DESCRIPTION OF FUNCTION & RESPONSIBILITY:
Responsible as the technical support lead to ensure successful integration of Atheros communications products into PC, consumer electronics, mobile and accessories products. The role establishes the person as the technical expert for Atheros communications product line. Must have high technical competence and be able to provide in-depth technical responses to customers and to the company's FAEs during the pre-sales process. Once engaged with a customer, must be able to map out the technical details of a system integration plan - from project start through mass production. This position will also be in charge of development system and reference design platforms. Will work closely with Atheros development engineering, program management team, software AEs, and FAEs in oversea office. 

QUALIFICATION (DETAIL): 
BSEE required, MSEE preferred with 5+ years of experience of board level RF circuit design
Must have good lab skills using various instruments such as spectrum analyzer, logic analyzer and scopes .  Prior experience with communications products eg bluetooth, GPS is highly preferred, knowledge in 802.11 is helpful.  Must be self motivated with good communication skills and an investigative spirit .  Ability to provide system design feedbacks to IC development team.  Ability to manage internal projects and coordinate with oversea FAEs .  Ability to be reactive to customer needs coupled with superior problem solving and debug capabilities
