Job Description:
Analog/Mixed Signal ASIC Design Engineer

Position Description
The position requires the development of new custom and semi-custom analog and mixed signal ASICs in support of a broad variety of embedded sensor applications. The design responsibilities would span full IC design down to the design and optimization of proprietary analog IP blocks. Responsibilities also include full upfront analog simulation and analysis as well as back-end testing and verification of IC performance. (Note: The individual filling this position may be based in Silicon Valley.)

Requirements
Minimum of an MS/BS Degree in Electrical Engineering with an emphasis in analog IC circuit design from an accredited university with a 3.4 overall G.P.A. or better, with at least a 3.6 G.P.A. or better within major. The candidate must have at least 5+ years of on-the-job analog or mixed signal IC design experience or equivalent, with in-depth knowledge of HDL, SPICE and layout tools. The candidate should also have experience in setting up and executing the necessary electrical testing to verify and validate IC performance. Ideally, the job candidate would also have a good level of familiarity with sensor transducer technologies and their applications. Finally, this candidate should have solid familiarity with the use of basic laboratory test equipment as well as specialized IC test equipment.

Additional Requirements
The ideal candidate must have an exceptional work ethic and be able to deliver consistently upon promises. He or she would be a self-starter who is highly intelligent, creative, self-motivated and self-directed, with a minimal requirement for supervision. However, the candidate must still be a team player and be able to take direction when necessary. As this is a start-up company, this person would automatically commit a high level of energy to seek out tasks and assignments on their own which would further the short, medium and long term goals of the company. Therefore, this person must have insight, vision and the capability to execute on a minute basis. Can-do attitude is a must, as well as the ability to follow through to full completion. Superb documentation skills are also mandatory along with impeccable organization and attention to detail. The ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing is also a big plus. This person must love working as an engineer, so any extra-curricular activities or hobbies of a technical nature will weigh heavily in the evaluation process.
