Experienced Analog / Mixed-Signal IC Design Engineer

Title dependent upon experience and expertise: (Principal, Senior)

General Description: Our client company is seeking senior or principal level IC designers for the design of high-speed mixed signal IC’s for high bit-rate (10 to 40 Gb/s) telecom and datacom applications and for high-speed test and measurement applications.

Tasks: 

        Responsible for the design of

        laser drivers and modulator drivers for 10 Gb/s optical transmitters

        transimpedance amplifiers for 10 Gb/s optical receivers

        high speed multiplexers and demultiplexers

        wideband amplifiers, comparators

        high speed CML digital circuits

        Bipolar and CMOS circuit design

        High frequency IC test including use of sampling oscilloscope, spectrum analyzers, network analyzer, bit error rate tester

        Contribute to technical leadership and direction of the IC design team.

        Interacting with customers to assist in design-ins, de-bugging of customer issues

        Interaction with Packaging, Test, Application and Product engineers.

        Mentoring of younger, less-experienced designers.

Requirements:

        Electrical Engineering BS with ³ 8 years of experience; Electrical Engineering MS with ³ 5 years of experience; Electrical Engineering Ph.D. with a circuits emphasis.

        Completion of several product design cycles.

        Extensive bipolar and/or CMOS analog/mixed-signal high-speed design experience.

        Experienced (hands on) in test and characterization of high-speed mixed-signal ASICs

        Solid CAD tool experience (Cadence, Agilent ADS, or similar)

        Experience in designing for manufacturability and testability

        Work well in teams

        Good organizational and communication skills.

Desirable:

        Good understanding of semiconductor devices

        Good understanding of microwave theory

        Design experience in bipolar, BiCMOS, CMOS, GaAs PHEMT

        Fiber optic transmitter and receiver design experience
