Sr. Staff Mixed-Signal CMOS Analog Design Engineer
Job code: 6093
Job Category: Analog IC
City: Austin

Job Description:

Senior Staff Mixed-Signal CMOS Analog Designer

This position is responsible for working with management, interacting with product marketing and contributing to product concept  and definition from a specification and functional/performance/cost and feasibility points of view and determining the best chip/system approach to achieving  the desired product; contributing to foundry/process choice, scheduling and die size estimates; actual circuit design and documentation; participation in design reviews; contributing to h/w emulation and product test development; initial evaluation of first silicon and support of the product qualification process to production.

The applicant to this position should be familiar with one or more of the typical industry SPICE-based time domain simulation tools and their use in a modern mixed analog-digital chip design flow. Some knowledge of the digital design tools and design flow for a mixed-signal ASIC/SoC  is expected, though the candidate may not do much digital design. A strong plus is ability to do behavioral level simulation with C++ or MatLab tools.  Additionally the applicant should have strong knowledge and some specific design experience with CMOS-based design of  at least some of the following  integrated analog functions: bandgap voltage references, switched-capacitor filters; auto-zerioing amplifiers; chopper-stabilized amplifiers; sigma-delta A/Ds, D/As; Nyquist-rate A/Ds, D/As; PLLs; power-management dc-dc conversion; ClassD amplifiers; PWM modulation; digital audio. The candidate should be able to point to multiple examples of successful chips demonstrating candidate’s skills in fulfilling mixed-signal product design requirements and roles in project management.

10 or more years of Mixed-Signal CMOS design experience is required. A BSEE degree is required and an MSEE is desired, though the BSEE candidate may offset this expectation with strong experiential knowledge.
