Senior Software Applications Engineer

Description:

As member of Quorum’s application team and reporting to the Director of Applications Development, the software applications engineer is responsible for developing, testing and supporting the driver software of system solutions based on Quorum’s RF IC products. The duties include developing radio driver software incorporating Quorum radio products into cellular phone designs, toubleshooting and problem solving during development, tuning, testing and productization of the mobile devices, developing data sheets, writing and reviewing application notes and programmer’s guides. Customer support activities will include providing software and RF driver support, as well as managing the customers’ interests with the company's sales, marketing, design and manufacturing groups.

Responsibilities:

• Develop driver software to integrate Quorum’s RF products into mobile phone platforms
• Technical interface to customers and partners, provide first level support on all software issues
• Identify and solve technical issues during design, validation and productization phase
• Provide the marketing organization and field applications engineers with software support
• Develop applications software for demonstration of Quroum’s products to customers
• Develop software tools for Quorum’s RF ICs
• Create support documentation
• Provide feedback for product modifications and improvements to the IC design teams
• Assist in design verification and testing of Quorum’s integrated circuits

Minimum Qualifications:

• Successful completion of software stack programming in GSM/GPRS/EDGE or WCDMA
• Thorough understanding of low-level software drivers for RF
• Good knowledge in testing RF functionality and their interaction with software drivers
• Proven track record of successful debug of software issues at system level
• Participation at product validation in the lab and during a customer project
• Expert knowledge of real-time programming of ARM processors and related debug tools
• Experience in firmware programming in assembly and C for mobile phone designs
• Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills
• Strong troubleshooting and debug skills
• Working knowledge of: Real-time debug tools (Lauterbach, ARM ICD/ICE), DSP programming in C and assembly, C/C++ programming, test equipment such as logic analyzer, oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer etc.
• Excellent command of written and spoken English
• Willingness to travel, also for extended periods of time (3-4 weeks in a row)

Education:

• MSEE+3 years or BSEE+5 years of software design and product experience
• Korean language skills are a plus
