Principal Design Engineer
Job Requirements: - At least 10+ years experience in design and debug of complex SOC subsystems, and wireless protocols. Good knowledge of verilog is a must
- Experience in design and development as well as qualifying Wireless SOC's for high volume production is a plus.
- Signal processing background, exposure to low power design concepts and backend flow are pluses.
- Knowledge of wireless protocols like Bluetooth, WLAN is preferred but not required.
Candidate will be working on next generation wireless Personal-Area-Networking SOC products that are targeted for specific applications. Products involve a high level of integration of multi-purpose functions ranging from wireless protocols, hardware accelerators or DSPs, CPU sub-systems to analog codec's and radios.
The candidate will be involved in working with system architects to come up with a suitable micro-architecture for specific blocks on the chip, RTL coding of the design, initial verification, driving the verification methodology with the verification team and working with the physical designer to specify constraints and implement the chip. Candidate will be involved with debugging pre-silicon emulation systems as well as supporting bringup and evaluation of the silicon. Candidate will also work closely with firmware folks in system tuning and optimization of the firmware on the product. Candidate will also work with Operations to resolve yield issues related to the product, characterize the device and support the device through its manufacturing qualification cycle. Going through this cycle, the candidate will get an overall understanding of how to take this next generation of highly integrated and multi-function wireless SOC IC products from early design to high volume production.
The candidate must be self-starter, team-oriented, schedule driven and capable of multi-tasking across a wide variety of functions. Candidate must be quick at adapting to challenges as needed to ensure the success of the projects.
