Senior Consultant

Role

The role of a Senior Consultant is to lead complex engagements and to successfully deploy designed customer solutions, in accordance with industry best practices. This individual has advanced expertise and capability of designing, tuning and deploying Microsoft SQL Server solutions.  Individual should be able to resolve 90% of all engagement issues without escalation.  The candidate must have demonstrable experience as a project lead for information technology consulting to include infrastructure and/or application integration engagements in the past two years. 

The position requires generalist knowledge in all aspects of a Microsoft SQL Server infrastructure environment with deep knowledge in the following areas: SQL Server 2000 and 2005, Microsoft Cluster Services installation and configuration on both Microsoft Windows Server 2000 and 2003 Operating Systems, migration experience from competitive products to SQL and SQL-to-SQL upgrades, data availability/protection strategies and implementation (e.g. database mirroring, log shipping), database administration (e.g. security policies, setting permissions) and performance tuning at both the database and server/storage level.  It is expected that the candidate will further show evidence of the ability to acquire knowledge from a variety of sources regarding related infrastructure technologies.  This role manages the complete lifecycle of large and complex projects. He or she has a passion for the customer which is demonstrated through professionalism and striving for excellence in all aspects of the customer experience.

Experience

Senior Data Base Administrator (DBA) & data warehousing work experience including familiarity with SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) and SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS). 8+ years consulting experience in a relevant technology field with roles in enterprise-level, multi-tier development organizations.  Face-to-face customer experience a must.  Experience with related technologies such as Storage, Back-Up / Recovery, .NET, Object Oriented Programming, C#, ASP, Visual Studio, Java, etc. a plus.

•          Demonstrated ability to engage in senior level technology decision maker discussions related to agility, business value.
•          Shows attention to detail and a great sense of urgency when deploying IT solutions and creating deliverables / follow-up paperwork
•          Manages escalations to ensure timely and high quality resolution of all issues
•          Capable of providing porting/migration assistance and general infrastructure consulting
•          Delivers consulting guidance in the form of prototypes, whitepapers, and test results
•          Excellent verbal communication and technical writing skills a must
