Sr. Regulatory Toxicologist

 

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

* Responsible for performing safety assessments for chemicals used in products developed and marketed by the Corporation in support of global new chemical  notifications, to meet global hazard communication requirements, and to further product stewardship initiatives

* Coordinate all aspects of chemical testing projects with 3rd party laboratories including assessment of new data to meet regulatory reporting obligations

* Additional responsibilities may include expert toxicology consultation to the hazard communication group, assistance in report writing, literature searches, data gap analysis, product risk assessments, dossier preparation, customer correspondence, and consulting services for internal businesses. 

 

SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, SPECIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

 

* PhD degree in Toxicology, Pharmacology, or related biological science preferred.  Consideration will be given to individuals with Masters degree in Toxicology,  Pharmacology, or  biological science and related industry experience.

* Strong background in chemistry

* 5 - 15 years toxicology experience in the chemical or pharmaceutical industry, or related industry sectors

* Strong background designing, monitoring and interpreting data from human health and environmental toxicology testing programs

* Demonstrated competencies conducting human health and environmental risk assessments

* Excellent written, oral and interpersonal skills

* Proven leadership skills

* Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks, working within tight deadlines and changing priorities

* Strong computer literacy including use of relational databases

* Must be a self-starter, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a team environment

 

CONSIDERED A PLUS:

 

* Knowledge of regulatory and data requirements for global new chemical notification dossiers as well as emerging regulatory initiatives (e.g., REACH and ChAMP)

* Experience with FDA and FIFRA registration and compliance

* Past participation in industry consortia addressing toxicology and risk characterization of chemicals

* Knowledge of global chemical hazard classification requirements

* Background as a product steward in support of a chemical business unit

* Supervisory experience
