We are looking for a Sr. Principal Scientist/Director with a proven track record in molecular diagnostic assay development and chemistry optimization. The candidate will have proven successful experience in Project Management and leading interdisciplinary teams.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Serves as a scientific advisor to senior team members.
Designs major experiments, evaluates data, and prepares associated documentation for evaluation by management.
Works as a member of an interdisciplinary team including biologists, chemists, and engineers to ensure timely completion of research projects.
Responsible for performing at the most advanced scientific level to optimize chemistry performance for diagnostic applications.
Designs, supervises and analyzes experiments for assay validation and improvement.
Facilitates technology transfer into routine laboratory practice.
Supports company instrumentation development.
Delivers scientific concepts, approaches and results to others inside and outside the organization.
Background and Qualifications:
Ph.D. in Chemistry/Biochemistry and a minimum 8 years of industry experience required.
Demonstrated success in molecular diagnostic assay development and chemistry optimization. Expertise in enzymatic biochemistry (e.g. PCR) is preferred.
Minimum 3 years of Project Management experience with proven success required; management of multidisciplinary teams preferred.
Familiar with regulatory related design control (e.g. ISO or FDA compliant).
Excellent written and verbal communications skills required.
Solid Presentation skills a plus.
