Sr. Business Systems Analyst

Description:
Senior Business Systems Analyst - Financial Applications is responsible for design of business processes, planning, testing, and configuration of the SAP R/3 Finance and Controlling modules.

The focus will be in process automation, control upgrades, efficiency improvements and return on SAP and Application Investment.

The individual will accomplish these objectives through performing functional analysis and technical design, and testing associated with implementation and support of the Financial Applications. The Sr. Business Systems Analyst will work in conjunction with process leads, business analysts, business warehouse analysts and system users in the development of business processes associated with business planning and financial consolidation.

Some responsibilities included:

Business process analysis -
Working with the Process Lead and other Business Systems Analysts in the analysis and decomposition of current business processes, perform scripting exercises, and the planning of the design the ERP system to support the business processes. Perform design activities including:

-Develop and configure SAP Finance and Controlling modules ' General Ledger Accounting, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Banking, Fixed Assets, Special Ledgers, Cost Center Accounting, Internal Orders, Product Costing, Profit Center Accounting and Profitability Analysis.
-Develop and Design New General Ledger (NGL) functionality in mySAP ERP ECC 6.0.
-Design Legal and Business Consolidation Systems ' both statutory and management consolidations
-Design Foreign Currencies in SAP.
-Initiate and Implement process improvements in Finance Processes, such as:
-Automation of Global Filing process
-Optimize SAP Investments by automating Inter-Company process
-Standardizing the Transfer Pricing Process by working with
-Global Process Owner and Process Leads
-Redesign SAP Security in Finance modules
-Create functional and technical specifications as required per existing standards.

Unit and integration testing -
Responsible for executing system unit and integration testing of business systems software. Includes performing the test, making changes in configuration based on results and error resolution. Also responsible for the coordination and testing of other business systems software areas outside of designated function (SD, MM, PP, HR, FI, CO.)

Business systems software configuration -
Responsible for assisting the Business Process Owner in the design of the business system software. Responsible for the overall configuration of the business systems software. Aid in the design of reports, forms, interfaces, custom programs and conversions.

Qualifications:
Academic/Credentials/Certifications:
' BS/BA in a business related discipline
' Additional education i.e. Accounting Degree preferred
' CPA or CMA Preferred
' MBA preferred

Length of experience:
' A minimum of 5-7 years of business experience in finance.
' A minimum of 4 years of SAP Configuration experience in Finance modules.
' A minimum of 1 year of mySAP implementation experience preferred.

Specialized skills/technical knowledge:
' Working knowledge of multiple SAP Finance systems (R3 FI/CO, BW, SEM.).
' Strong project management skills requiring organization of resources, project planning & managing project budget.
' Strong communication skills (both verbal and written).
' Strong skills in writing accurate document specifications.
' Experience in evaluating and implementing new software and upgrades.
' Ability to work within multi-cultural teams.
' Ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization.

Specific qualifications ' Finance:
' Working knowledge of multiple SAP Finance systems (R3 FI/CO modules, BW, SEM.).
' Functional knowledge with GAAP, G/L, A/R, A/P, Cost Accounting, Fixed Assets and consolidations ? especially in multiple-currency environment.
' Experience and training in implementing SAP Financial modules
' Ability to identify, champion and manage improvements to financial processes (best practices).
