The Company

Our client is a technology developer with segment leading hardware and software offerings.  Serving critical manufacturing sectors, this organization has developed a technical solution that has been implemented by several hundred clients – including many Fortune 500 companies.  Sales have been growing steadily and the company is poised to see substantial sales growth during the next 12 to 18 months.

The Role

An exciting opportunity exists for an accomplished VP Sales to join the executive team.  You will take the existing sales force and develop them to reach their full potential and achieve their targets.  A “player-coach” who can stretch average performers and identify high achievers, you will also be able to lead by example and deliver on your own sales targets.  You will be responsible for voicing the company vision, goals and strategy to the sales team while transferring accountability for achieving sales results to the team members.  An effective communicator, you will represent the sales team to upper management, represent the company to clients and prospects, and work with other departments to ensure that their activities support corporate sales objectives.  In addition, you must understand the entire sales process and how to run this business-within-a-business from lead generation to closing sales and compensating sales personnel.

The Requirements

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and traits:

         Track record of success in sales and sales management

         Capability to maintain own accounts while motivating others to sell

         Talent to get the best out of staff; motivation and leadership skills

         Previous experience in a sales leadership function at the director or VP level

         Experience in selling technology solutions

         Knowledge of sales within critical manufacturing industries is desired

         Experience in recruiting and selecting successful sales professionals

         Ability to manage remote sales staff effectively

         Previous experience working within a small technology company

         Knowledge of sales process and the ability to implement a pipeline management  process

         Exceptional communication skills

         A high degree of integrity and a strong set of values

         The ability to travel to the US approximately 50% of the year

 

The Compensation

Compensation will include a strong base salary and a generous variable component with accelerators.  This role will appeal to individuals who believe in performance based compensation and who like to maintain control of their upside potential.

The Location

Both the company and the position are based in Vancouver, BC.
