This position requires someone with demonstrated leadership experience in a lean manufacturing enviornment.

 

Position Description

 

The Operations Manager will be responsible for all issues associated with Manufacturing, Purchasing, Inventory, Documentation, Shipping/Receiving, Production Engineering and Quality Control.  This position also has responsibility for the performance of factory service operations and acts as the liaison to Finance, Sales and Engineering on issues related to cost, customer satisfaction, and product quality. 

 

Evaluation of performance will be based on an ability to select qualified personnel, plan/meet task schedules, ensure overall operational efficiency, plan capacities, anticipate and react to changing conditions, and the ability to interact and work with other departments.

 

Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

 

1.   Plan, coordinate and manage all resources and activities that involve the planning, coordinating and execution of activities that create goods or service.

2.  Establish and manage annual capital budgets.

3. Develop and maintain economical inventory levels

REQUIREMENTS

  • Knowledge and understanding of a manufacturing process
  • Knowledge and understanding of MRP and shop floor control systems
  • Ability to use information to plan work loads and resources
  • Knowledge and understanding of documentation, procurement, inventory and quality control processes.
  • Ability to use and analyze information in order to establish priorities.
  • Good communication skills and a professional appearance.
  • Strong management and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of ISO-9000.
  • Knowledge of Lean techniques
  • Ability to work and interact with other departments.

 

EDUCATION

 

BS/BA, or equivalent experience preferred
