Problem: MaxHire can only send out a certain document without letterhead because the document is unreadable.
Password protecting a file may cause a document to be unreadable in MaxHire. You must remove the password protection on any documents that have been uploaded to MaxHire before letterhead can be inserted. For more information on how to edit documents please see the Editing Documents topic in the MaxHire User Guide.
If you do not know the password for the file, contact the candidate for a new copy of the resume.
Another common reason for this error is corrupted or "bad" formatting in the document you are trying to send. There are several documented bugs with Microsoft Word that cause a document to not respond due to formatting problems. Most formatting problems are caused by missing images or damaged tables in the document.
To correct formatting issues, please follow the steps below.
To correct bad formatting using WordPad:
Open the Word document and copy the entire text of the document.
Open WordPad (Start > Programs > Accessories > WordPad).
Paste in the original document text into WordPad.
Select the entire WordPad text you just pasted and copy it to the clipboard.
Create a new blank Word document and paste the WordPad text into the document.
Note
If the above procedure does not fix the problem, follow the same steps using Notepad instead. You will lose more formatting, but it will be more effective at removing damaged formatting as well.
