Configuring Norton Internet Security

If you use Norton Internet Security installed on your computer and cannot connect to your MaxHire database, you must configure Norton Internet Security to permit all MaxHire connections.

 

  1. Disable Norton Internet Security by right-clicking the Norton icon in your system tray and clicking Disable.

  2. After disabling Norton Internet Security, try logging on to MaxHire. If you are able to log on, Norton Internet Security is preventing you from logging on to MaxHire.

  3. Enable Norton Internet Security by right-clicking the icon in your system tray.

  4. Open Norton Internet Security console, click the Personal Firewall link and click Configure.

  5. You must permit access to the Internet for MaxHire and any other program on your computer which access the Internet.

 

Important  Important

You must permit access to all MaxHire programs listed in your programs list in the above window.

 

Configuring McAfee Personal Firewall

If you have McAfee Personal Firewall (Express) installed on your computer and cannot connect to your MaxHire database, you must configure McAfee to permit all MaxHire connections.

 

  1. Disable McAfee Personal Firewall by right-clicking the McAfee icon in your system tray.

  2. After disabling McAfee Personal Firewall, try logging on to MaxHire. If you are able to log on, McAfee is preventing you from logging on to MaxHire.

  3. Enable McAfee Personal Firewall by right-clicking the  icon in your system tray.

  4. Open McAfee’s Internet Applications tab and set the permissions for both MaxHire.net programs – MaxHireNet.exe and MaxHire.exe – to Allow Full Access.
