Problem: I get an Error 512 while I'm logged on to MaxHire.
Error 512 warns that an existing session between your computer and the MaxHire server was broken and must be set up again.
Typically this error is triggered by one of three conditions:
When
logging on more than once with the same user name at the same time
Error 512 may indicate an attempt to log on twice using the
same user name at the same time. Clicking OK
will cancel any previous session and you can continue normally. In most
of these cases, the message would also have been preceded by a warning
about duplicate log ons.
When preceded by an Error 5415 or unexpected program shut-downs
If MaxHire shuts down unexpectedly, or if
you experience a temporary interruption to your Internet connection, MaxHire
may be fooled into thinking you're logged in twice. Clicking OK
will cancel any previous session and you can continue normally. If the
5415 errors persist, please check your Internet
connection.
When
NOT preceded by an Error 5415 or unexpected shut-downs
If you experience multiple 512 errors which are not preceded either
by MaxHire shutting down unexpectedly or 5415 connection errors, this
may indicate a problem with MaxHire or with your data.
Before you submit a support request, try to identify any common pattern or trigger for errors, such as working with the same or similar records, using the same program feature, or even just leaving the program unattended and returning to find the error message.
If there is no discernable pattern to the errors, please forward your error log to MaxHire Support.
To locate the error.log file:
From the Windows Explorer or My Computer shortcut on your desktop, locate your MaxHire folder. By default it is installed in the following path: C:\Documents and Settings\<<YOUR WINDOWS ACCOUNT>>\...Local Settings\Application Data\MaxHire
Inside this folder, you will find the error.log file.
Send the file as an email attachment to MaxHire's support team at support@maxhire.net.
Note
You may need to change your Folder View options in Windows Explorer to show system and hidden files first to see it (Tools > Folder Options > View tab).
