I get an Error 5415 while I'm logged on to MaxHire

Problem: I receive an Error 5415 while I'm logged on to MaxHire.

The Error 5415 message may occur as frequently as you would see a Send/Receive error in Outlook. MaxHire checks for messages (alarms) every few minutes, just as Outlook automatically connects to your email server every few minutes to download new mail.

Clicking Retry will reconnect you to the database if the Internet connection is available. If you click Cancel, MaxHire will close and you will need to log on again. If clicking Retry does not allow you to reconnect or if the problem occurs too frequently, see the troubleshooting steps below.

If you are the only user receiving an Error 5415:

This usually means that specific Microsoft components on your computer used by MaxHire’s Microsoft.Net architecture are missing or corrupted.

When I click Retry, the message keeps appearing and I must click Cancel to get out of the message:

This means that your computer is unable to reestablish a connection to the server and you will need to log back on to MaxHire. This symptom usually means that the Microsoft web service components are missing or corrupted.

Updating Windows Web Services Components

MaxHire uses web services to pass data back and forth between your computer and your database. If you are receiving multiple connection failure messages and your Internet connection appears to be stable, the web services files on your computer may be missing or corrupt .

Applying the Microsoft patches listed below can restore or replace missing or corrupt web services files and improve database connectivity.

Note Note

You must have access privileges to install software on your computer. If your network administrator normally installs software for you, forward these instructions to them.

  2. Download the full .msi versions of the following files to your desktop:

  1. After the downloads are complete, double-click each file to install the updated Microsoft components.
